GWIEA sends two Board Members to Global IEA 2017 Conference
Highlights: Sandra Maitre, Marika Borg, Heart Math-Enneagram Intersections
Published March 2017
The GWIEA Chapter will send two representatives to the IEA Global Conference in San Antonio this July 2017. Board Vice Chair Pamela Perkins Donnelly and Board
Secretary Al Wedemeyer will attend the Pre-Day Three Centers event and the four-day Conference which follows.
Both Wedemeyer and Donnelly will also represent the GWIEA Chapter at the IEA General Assembly of Affiliates and Chapters (GAAC) day-long meeting on Wednesday July 19,
2017.
When asked about attending the Global IEA Conference, Al Wedemeyer said: "I am excited to be back after missing last year's conference in Minneapolis. I am looking
forward to reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. I am particularly intrigued by the Thursday night Opening Reception optional speed networking event. I'm planning on meeting a lot of new
people that night."
As an offical GWIEA Chapter representative, Wedemeyer said he anticipates interacting with other Regional Chapters, learning from them, and exchanging ideas. "I'd like
to share our 'new chapter' excitement with everyone, and let them all know what we are up to. I'm also hoping to tap into the larger IEA community to get inspired by what they are doing."
The second GWIEA GAAC representative Pamela Donnelly concurs, saying: "While it is lovely to have local
Enneagram-knowledgeable people with whom to interact, it is also quite the labor of love. There's no need to recreate the wheel, if you can access the blueprints another Regional Chapter has used to
smooth out any internal Regional Chapter workings."
When asked about the new-fangled online conference app, Al admitted, "I am a dinosaur. I don't even have a smart phone yet. But the last conference I attended I was
able to download the computer version of the app and I found that real useful. I plan to get that downloaded before July."
(Didn't know about the Global Conference app? Check it out. The conference
app lets you access speaker bios and topics; select your preferred sessions; view and print session handouts; see the directory of who is attending the conference; find local restaurants; and even
post pictures or chat with other attendees.)

groom new talent for management roles, or just to smooth out interpersonal co-worker relations," said GWIEA board member Pamela P. Donnelly.
