The Greater Washington, DC-Chapter of the IEA is now officially listed on the parent website of the International Enneagram Association. As a Regional Chapter of the International group, the GWIEA shares the same mission, but expends energies in the local region of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.


If you didn't know about the parent, international group IEA, go ahead and check out their website. You can find a lot of interesting information, as well as learn about the history of the group. There are Regional Chapters in the USA and National Affiliates across the globe. The GWIEA listing will be found on the Regional Chapters page. 


This website launched in October 2017 and in February 2017, the group is also listed on the parent organization site. We'd liek to ask YOU to help us spread the word! Have an Enneagram freind or asociate in the Greater District of Columbia area (DC-MD-VA)? Help grow the GWIEA 

Currently seeking volunteer Board of Directors for two-year terms

Several open Board of Director's positions await your review and volunteer expereince! The GWIEA is actively seeking new volunteer Board of Directors leadership role applications for a two-year term. Knowledge of the Enneagram is preferred, but not required. Come learn and grow with us! The GWIEA board hopes to have representation from all nine Enneagram types to steer the group's activities and projects. 


What are the Board of Director's position requirements: Just this:

  • living near, or willing to travel in the DC-MD-VA area,
  • a monthly 2-hour board meeting, and
  • a committment to conscious service are the only real requirements.
  • Additionally, some project-specific public face-time or internal activity may also arise.


The GWIEA board would enjoy participating  board members with the following professional experience or serious hobby interest in:

  • accounting
  • social media
  • web design
  • graphic design (flyers, posters, etc.)
  • photography (shooting, storage, manipulation)
  • fund raising
  • legal and contracts

GWIEA Chapter represents at Global IEA Conference

Board Vice-Chair Pamela Perkins Donnelly represented GWIEA at the Minneapolis July 20, 2016 IEA Conference Assembly of Affiliates and Chapters (GAAC) meeting.


"I was impressed by the warm welcome I received as a GAAC representative. And I was intrigued to watch the larger oranization of the IEA hold governance meetigns and illicit feedback from its group members," Donnelly said,


She continued: "There were many informative stories of other Chapters And AFfiliates beginnings and evlutions. Essentially, I learned a LOT, and that was before the conference even began! As a Board Member of a newly formed Regional Chapter, attendance at this conference was instrumental."

Greater Washington DC Chapter officially recognized by IEA

The Greater DC Area Chapter of the International Enneagram Association received it's official status on April 18, 2016.

GWIEA launches website

In the early Fall 2016, the GWIEA Board of Directors worked feverishly to complete and launch their first place-holder website. Now the group has a home url address in the online community. New IEA Regional Chapter interest meeting in NOVA

Dr. Wonhee Kang invites all who are interested to a new IEA Regional Chapter formation meeting on Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., at the Social Hall of Culmore United Methodist Church (3400 Charles St., Falls Church, VA, 22041). The purpose of the meeting is to gauge interest for an Greater Washington DC-Area Chapter of the IEA. With enough interest, a subsequent meeting will be held to select a board of Directors. Information about positions will be discussed at the November 12th meeting. Chapter meetings would begin early 2016.
